AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY: NON-FORMAL EDUCATION IS AN EFFECTIVE WAY TO RAPIDLY ACQUIRE NEW SKILLS

Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University is developing the field of non-formal education, providing students and professionals with the opportunity to acquire modern skills. In today’s labor market, the importance of practical skills is growing alongside theoretical knowledge.

Non-formal education is a form of learning that is voluntary and characterized by flexibility in terms of timeframes and formats. It allows individuals to quickly gain new skills through courses, training sessions, and online platforms.

Advantages of non-formal education:

  • rapid acquisition of skills;
  • the opportunity to learn at any age;
  • new opportunities for professional development.

The Resource Center for Professional Training and Advanced Education at the university offers more than 100 educational programs. Courses are conducted in both online and offline formats. Short-term courses last from 8 to 72 hours, while retraining programs can take up to 8 months. Upon completion, participants receive a certificate.

In the 2025–2026 academic year, 53 programs were implemented, and 1,505 people completed training. In addition, students and faculty improve their qualifications through platforms such as Coursera and AI Sana in areas including IT, artificial intelligence, and design.

Non-formal education opens up new opportunities and is an effective tool for developing a competitive specialist.
