A TED TALKS-FORMAT CONFERENCE ON THE TOPIC “ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE: BREAKTHROUGH OR DECLINE?” WAS HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

At Amanzholov University, a student conference in the TED Talks format was held on the topic “Artificial Intelligence: Breakthrough or Decline?”

The event was attended by students and master’s students from educational programs in psychology and special education. During the conference, presentations were made on the opportunities and risks of using artificial intelligence technologies in the early support system for children with special educational needs, in diagnostics and teaching, as well as on its role in creative and professional self-development.

A particularly notable presentation was delivered by second-year master’s student Yana Tkhorzhevskaya on the topic “AI and Self-Education: The Experience of a Self-Taught Artist.” In her report, she discussed the accessibility of digital tools, the speed of acquiring new skills, and the limitations of using neural networks.

An engaging discussion among participants was also sparked by the presentation of second-year master’s student Veronika Balueva from the “Special Education: ABA” program. She examined the use of artificial intelligence in professional activities, including synthesized speech applications and the related ethical considerations.

Additionally, third-year psychology student Dilnaz Didarkhanova presented on modern approaches to the use of digital technologies in psychological practice.

The event was conducted in an open dialogue format and contributed to the development of a critical perspective on the role of artificial intelligence in the professional activities of specialists in psychology and special education.

At the conclusion of the conference, participants’ high engagement and the relevance of the topics raised in the context of digital transformation in education and the social sphere were highlighted.
