STUDENTS OF AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY TOOK PART IN A LITERARY MEETING WITH ALIBEK ASKAROV
On May 11, the East Kazakhstan Regional Pushkin Library in Ust-Kamenogorsk hosted the creative evening “The Thinking Writer of the Great Altai” featuring Honored Figure of Kazakhstan, laureate of the State Prize of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and renowned writer Alibek Askarov.
Students and faculty members of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University took part in the educational literary evening, gaining the opportunity to meet one of the prominent representatives of Kazakh literature.
The event was moderated by writer, laureate of the International “Alash” Literary Prize, and “Honorary Writer of Kazakhstan” Alibek Kantarbayev, who spoke in detail about the writer’s creative path and his place in literature.
Alibek Askarov is a writer who has formed his own unique style in Kazakh prose. His works vividly reflect the grandeur of Altai’s nature, the realism of rural life, national values, and the deep traditions of Kazakh upbringing. Such works as “Kutmeken,” “Early Frost,” “Oh Great Altai, How Can I Convey Your Greatness,” and “Altai — the Golden Cradle, Native Land” have occupied a special place in the hearts of readers.
During the meeting, readers became more closely acquainted with the writer’s creative world and heard meaningful reflections on native land, national spirit, literature, and spirituality. In addition, the writer shared his views on the role of literature in modern society, young people’s interest in reading, and the importance of spiritual values.
During the event, students and readers had the opportunity to ask questions and communicate freely with the writer. The author’s life experience and creative principles made a particularly strong impression on the youth.
Poets and writers of the region, representatives of the intelligentsia, library readers, and literature enthusiasts also attended the meeting. The audience expressed great interest in and respect for the work of Alibek Askarov.
The meaningful meeting with a writer who glorifies the spirit of Altai through literature left vivid spiritual impressions on literature lovers of East Kazakhstan.
