RESEARCH INTERNSHIP AT THE CHINGIZ AITMATOV INSTITUTE OF LITERATURE: A NEW DIRECTION OF INTERNATIONAL COOPERATION.

As part of the targeted program project “Regional Integration of Literary and Linguistic Tourism in East Kazakhstan: Etymology of Toponyms and Digitalization of Local Legends,” approved by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University completed a research internship at the Chingiz Aitmatov Institute of Literature of the National Academy of Sciences under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic from May 13 to 18.

The internship participants included Aizhan Maratbekovna Kartayeva, Professor of the Department of Kazakh, Russian Philology and Journalism, Doctor of Philological Sciences; Karlygash Turkestanovna Barbosynova, Head of the Department; and Berdibek Nuroldaevich Biyarov, Associate Professor and Candidate of Philological Sciences.

The primary objective of the internship was to strengthen academic ties, exchange professional experience, and discuss prospects for joint research in the fields of literary studies, folklore studies, linguistics, and Turkology.

During the visit, the participants collected theoretical and methodological materials related to the project, studied the application of digital technologies in literary research, and explored initiatives focused on the study of toponymy and the folklore heritage of Turkic peoples.

As a result, the researchers refined the scientific foundations for conducting a comparative typological analysis of shared toponyms across Kazakhstan and the Kyrgyz Republic and identified methodological approaches for future collaborative studies.

The outcomes of the internship will contribute to the development of international academic cooperation and promote the historical and cultural heritage of East Kazakhstan within the broader Turkic world.
