MASTER THE RUSSIAN CASE SYSTEM WITH EASE: A NEW ONLINE COURSE AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

A new massive open online course (MOOC), developed by faculty members of the Department of Kazakh and Russian Philology and Journalism at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, has been published on the Skills Enbek platform.

The educational program, titled “Russian Cases: A Remedial Course,” was developed by R.M. Zhakypova, A.Zh. Toktubayeva, A.A. Saganaeva, N.M. Akhmetbekova, and D.A. Zhumadilova.

The course is designed for learners who are familiar with the case system of the Russian language but experience difficulties in using it correctly. The program aims to systematize existing knowledge, correct common errors, and develop confident use of case forms in both spoken and written communication.

As part of the course, learners will have access to video lessons, practical assignments, and self-assessment tests. These materials will help develop language competence and deepen their knowledge of Russian grammar.

The course provides a detailed overview of the meaning and use of each case, including both case forms used without prepositions and their combinations with prepositions. Particular attention is also given to semantic nuances that vary depending on the context, as well as complex cases of case selection that often cause difficulties.

According to the authors, the course will help learners make informed choices of word forms, gain a better understanding of topics that they may not have fully mastered previously, and systematize their knowledge of Russian grammar.
