Lensta Rakhimzhanovna Aubakirova-an outstanding educator, Professor, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Honorary Citizen of the East Kazakhstan Region, veteran of education, and an individual whose life was deeply intertwined with her home university for decades—has passed away.

For Amanzholov University, this represents a profound and irreplaceable loss.

Lensta Rakhimzhanovna was born on May 27, 1939, in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Following her graduation from the Ust-Kamenogorsk Pedagogical Institute, she pursued a distinguished career path—advancing from school teacher and principal to university professor, department head, dean, and deputy vice-rector.

From 1969 onward, her life was dedicated to the pedagogical university, where she served in the education and mentorship of youth for over fifty years.

For generations of students and colleagues, Lensta Rakhimzhanovna was far more than an instructor; she was a true mentor—a person sought out for counsel, encouragement, and wisdom.

Her professional and civic endeavors left a significant mark on the history of East Kazakhstan. She was deeply committed to youth upbringing, actively contributing to the creation of student labor brigades, neighborhood youth clubs, and athletic programs, demonstrating an enduring faith in the potential of young people.

Her lifelong dedication earned her numerous honors and state distinctions, including “Excellence in Education of the Kazakh SSR,” “Honorary Worker of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan,” the “Veteran of Labor” medal, and multiple departmental awards. In 2017, she was conferred the title of “Honorary Citizen of the East Kazakhstan Region.”

Yet her most meaningful achievements were the people she shaped:

• Students who went on to become educators themselves;

• Colleagues who held her in lasting esteem and gratitude;

• Alumni whom she guided toward their life callings.

Throughout her later years, Lensta Rakhimzhanovna remained an active participant in campus life. She chaired the Veterans Council, engaged regularly with students and faculty, shared personal recollections, and attended commemorative university events. In 2025, she addressed a university assembly with a recital of the poem “For the Motherland.”

Her legacy endures not only through academic publications, institutional achievements, and pedagogical contributions, but also in the lives of the countless individuals she educated, guided, and inspired.

Her name will forever remain an essential chapter in the history of Amanzholov University.
