AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY: YOUNG PEOPLE CREATING NEW DIRECTIONS IN TOURISM
Ahead of World Tourism Day, the Department of Sports and Tourism of the Ust-Kamenogorsk City Akimat organized a practical field session for first- and third-year students of the Tourism educational program at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.
The field session was held at a trout farm in the village of Novo-Troitskoye. The students were accompanied by Aigul Assubayeva, Senior Lecturer at the Department of Economics, Management and Finance and Deputy Dean of the Higher School of Business and Law for Educational Work, and Alima Alipova, Head of the Dana Bala Center for Continuing and Inclusive Education.
During the practical session, future tourism specialists became familiar with the basics of organizing tourism activities. The students learned how to set up tents, studied the history of tourism and the specific features of the area, and completed practical tasks related to ecological, rural, and recreational tourism.
One of the key aspects of the session was inclusive tourism. Students explored ways to adapt tourist routes and infrastructure for people with disabilities and people with special needs.
Fishing outdoors, exploring the surrounding area, and completing practical tasks allowed students to apply their theoretical knowledge in practice. They also developed legends about local attractions, proposed promotional ideas, and created concepts for new tourist routes.
The students were able to reassess the tourism potential of a familiar area and gain practical experience in the main stages of developing a tourist route and creating a tourism product.
Modern tourism is not only about travel. It is also an opportunity to discover the natural and cultural heritage of the region, create new routes, develop high-quality tourism products, and make them accessible to everyone.
Such practice-oriented sessions not only contribute to the development of professional competencies among future specialists but also help them view the tourism potential of their home region from a new perspective.
We express our gratitude to the Department of Sports and Tourism of the Ust-Kamenogorsk City Akimat for providing students with the opportunity to combine theoretical knowledge with practical experience.
