DEPARTMENT DEVELOPMENT THROUGH INTERNATIONAL RANKINGS DISCUSSED AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University held a seminar entitled “International University Rankings: Tools for Department Management and Development.”

The meeting with heads of departments was conducted by Deputy Chairman of the Board – Vice Rector for Strategic Development and International Cooperation Irina Rovnyakova.

During the seminar, particular attention was paid to the QS international ranking, its key indicators, and university assessment methodology. Participants reviewed the University’s current performance, analyzed its strengths, and identified areas requiring further development.

The role of departments in improving the University’s position in international rankings was also discussed. Priority areas included the development of research activities, increasing publication output and citation indicators, strengthening international academic cooperation, expanding interaction with international partners, and enhancing the University’s academic reputation.

Heads of departments discussed specific measures aimed at improving key indicators and emphasized the importance of effectively using the human, scientific, and international potential of their departments.

Following the seminar, the main areas for further work were identified, along with specific tasks aimed at strengthening the position of Amanzholov University in the international educational and research environment.
