RESEARCH TALK AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY: ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE IN SCIENTIFIC RESEARCH
Artificial Intelligence Week continues at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. Today’s programme focused on the research application of artificial intelligence technologies in the format of a Research Talk entitled “AI Tools in Research: From Idea to Result.”
The speaker was Markhaba Akhmetollinovna Karmenova, Associate Professor at the Department of Computer Modeling and Information Technologies.
During the meeting, University master’s students presented their research projects. The topics covered various areas of artificial intelligence application, from motion recognition and source code analysis to the development of educational technologies and methodological approaches to teaching artificial intelligence.
Sayat Kushimbayev, a second-year master’s student of the Computer Science educational program, presented the study “Real-Time Hand Movement Recognition and Voice Output in the Kazakh Language,” devoted to recognizing hand movements in real time and converting them into speech in Kazakh.
Anna Brim, a second-year master’s student of the Information Systems educational program, presented the topic “Application of Artificial Intelligence Technology in Source Code Analysis,” examining the possibilities of using artificial intelligence technologies to analyze software source code.
Aigerim Oralbayeva, a master’s student of the Computer Science educational program, presented the topic “Artificial Intelligence and Gamification: New Approaches to Developing Educational Games.” The study focuses on combining artificial intelligence technologies and gamification in the development of educational games.
Olzhas Kenzhebek, a second-year master’s student of the Computer Science educational program, presented the study “Exploring and Designing Methodological Approaches to Developing the Course ‘Artificial Intelligence: Deep Learning’ in the Context of Digitalization of the General Education System.” The research is devoted to the development of methodological approaches to designing a course on artificial intelligence and deep learning in the context of the digital transformation of general education.
The Research Talk format makes it possible to present scientific ideas not only as theoretical concepts but also to demonstrate their potential practical application. For master’s students, such meetings provide a platform for presenting and testing their research, discussing current scientific challenges, and receiving professional feedback.
Such events are particularly important in the context of the rapid development of artificial intelligence. AI tools are gradually becoming part of the research process and are used in working with information and data, software code, educational technologies, and the development of new digital solutions. At the same time, it remains essential not only to master the tools but also to be able to independently formulate a research problem, select appropriate methods, and evaluate the results obtained.
Research Talk also gives students and master’s students an opportunity to see specific examples of research projects and identify possible directions for their own scientific work. The projects presented today demonstrate that artificial intelligence technologies can be applied in a wide range of fields, from education and programming to the development of solutions focused on the Kazakh language and the current digital needs of society.
The Research Talk became another stage of Artificial Intelligence Week, which brings together educational, scientific, and practice-oriented activities. The programme is aimed at developing students’ digital competencies, introducing them to modern artificial intelligence capabilities, and creating an environment for presenting and further developing their own ideas and research projects.
