AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY PRESENTS SCIENTIFIC DEVELOPMENTS AT THE INTERNATIONAL “POWEREXPO ALMATY 2026” EXHIBITION
From October 21 to 23, 2026, the international “Powerexpo Almaty 2026” exhibition dedicated to energy, electrical engineering, and mechanical engineering is being held in Almaty. The exhibition features research results from the Surface Engineering and Tribology Research Center of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.
Participation in the exhibition is organized within the framework of scientific programs BR24992876, “Development and Testing of Surface Treatment Technologies and Composite Protective Coatings to Improve the Performance Characteristics of Tools, Machine Parts, and Equipment,” and BR24992879, “Development of Fundamental Methods and Techniques Based on Electrical Discharge Phenomena and Their Implementation in Mechanical Engineering Production.” The programs are being implemented through program-targeted funding from the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
The main purpose of participating in the international exhibition is to present scientific developments created within these programs and promote them among potential users and industrial partners.
A key feature of the scientific programs is the integration of advanced research with the practical needs of industry. University researchers have developed a scientific and technological foundation for strengthening machine parts and equipment used in Kazakhstan’s mining and metallurgical, agricultural, and oil and gas industries.
In particular, scientific solutions have been developed in the areas of detonation spraying, air-plasma spraying, flame spraying, high-velocity oxygen fuel spraying (HVOF), electric arc metallization, electrolytic plasma treatment, laser and plasma hardening, as well as atomic layer deposition (ALD) and physical vapor deposition (PVD).
During the exhibition, University researchers are exchanging experience with representatives of Kazakhstani and international enterprises and discussing prospects for cooperation in industrial testing, implementation, and commercialization of scientific developments.
Cooperation between science and industry is an important step toward developing domestic technologies and strengthening the country’s industrial potential.
Amanzholov University aims to contribute to Kazakhstan’s technological independence and industrial development by transforming the potential of domestic science into effective solutions for industry.
