STUDENT OF THE UNIVERSITY AMONG THE MEDALISTS OF THE SHORT TRACK WORLD CUP STAGE

The city of Heerenveen (Netherlands) is hosting the Junior Short Track Speed Skating World Cup.

Young short trackers from Kazakhstan achieved a sensational result at this competition, taking second place in the 3000 meters team relay. At the same time, they managed to beat the strongest national teams in the world, such as the Netherlands and Canada.

Represented Kazakhstan on the ice arena Anastasia Astrakhantseva, Alina Azhgalieva, Guldana Zhalmukhan, Polina Omelchuk and Zeynep Kumarkan.

It should be noted that Zeynep Kumarkan is a 1st year student of the specialty of physical training and sports of the Higher School of Physical Education and Sport named after S. Amanzholov. She trains in one of the ice modules of the regional center.

– This achievement will stimulate me to train more and improve my performance at international starts,” Zeynep Kumarkan shared.

According to the official protocol, the champions of this tournament were athletes from South Korea. Their time was 4:17.683. Then – Kazakhstan (4:19.480) and the Netherlands (4:33.236).
