UNIQUE COPY OF “FAUST” IN ALMA MATER

The library collection of the University has a unique edition of “Faust” by Johann Wolfgang Goethe. The book, as a work of book publishing art, was born in 1899 in the printing house of A. F. Marx. F. Marx, and decorated by the artist E. Seibertz.

-For 125 years of its “life” the embossed binding with gold embossing, leather spine and original cover have been perfectly preserved, – say the specialists of the B. Mamrayev scientific library.

The literary work itself is also amazing. Goethe’s tragedy occupies one of the most honorable places in the history of world literature. It is a grandiose creation about the eternal confrontation of good and evil, the power of the human spirit, the immortality of its creative power and the thirst for full-blooded existence. The genius of German literature gave “Faust” almost sixty years of his life.

It should be noted that the unique copy is presented in the B. Mamraev scientific library in the Amanzholov University, which has more than 10,000 books.
