SOFT POWER, OR HOW AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY SCIENTIST DEVELOPS THE AGRICULTURAL SECTOR

Marhaba Karmenova, Associate Professor of Amanzholov University, is developing a local monitoring network with three meteorological stations. Such know-how is necessary for objective analysis and forecasting of water regime of agrocenoses in Kazakhstan, which will positively influence the solution of water situation and development of agricultural industry in the country.

-Today my team and I are creating an innovative system that combines the advantages of artificial intelligence and expert data. Our ultra-sensitive sensors of rainfall, temperature, soil and air humidity, which are equipped with weather stations, will collect data and send it to our server. Based on the data received, the AI will be able to forecast possible floods, crop yields or determine the most successful crop to plant in a particular area,” said Marhaba Akhmetollinovna.

The new project has managed to prove its relevance, becoming the winner in the competition of the Committee of Science of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan for grant funding for scientific and scientific-technical projects for 2024-2026. Subsequent works of the scientific team Amanzholov University will be aimed at creating a unified database and developing practical recommendations on agricultural practices, water resources management and crop adaptation strategies in the context of climate change.
