ROUND TABLE DEDICATED TO THE CONSTITUTION DAY OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
A round table dedicated to the Constitution Day of the Republic of Kazakhstan was held in Sarsen Amanzholov University. The purpose of the event is to discuss and reveal the potential of the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, its legal norms in creating openness and transparency in the relationship between the individual, society and the state.
Rector of the university Mukhtar Tolegen, Deputy of the Majilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Doctor of Law Marat Bashimov, Deputy Akim of the East Kazakhstan region Yerbol Nurgaliyev, First Deputy Head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan to combat corruption in East Kazakhstan Talgat Bashev took part in the round table,
Representative of the Commissioner for Human Rights in East Kazakhstan region Serik Mizanbekov, Deputy Head of the Department of Justice Aidyn Amirkhanov, Senior Assistant Prosecutor of the region Vasily Alexandrov, Acting Head of the Department of Judicial Administration of the Republic of Kazakhstan in East Kazakhstan region Maksat Aisin, teachers and students of the university.
During the event with author’s reports on topical issues were made by experts. In particular, the professor of ENU named after L.N.Gumilev, Doctor of Law Ermek Abdrasulov on a theme “Constitutional reforms of 2022 as a basis of modernization of judicial system of Kazakhstan: questions of selection and appointment of judges”. Marat Bashimov raised the topic of human rights potential of the Constitution of Kazakhstan, and the Representative of the Ombudsman for Human Rights in East Kazakhstan region Serik Mizanbekov told about the constitutional status of the Ombudsman in the country. The event continued with the speech of Gulmira Bayrkenova, Associate Professor of the Department of Jurisprudence. She raised the issue of the Constitutional Court in building a human-centered and fair state.
In conclusion, the Commissioner for Children’s Rights in East Kazakhstan region and Senor-lecturer of the Department of Jurisprudence Aksana Kalenova told about her activities, noting the interaction with the prosecutor’s office of the region on issues of supervisory activities.
-When I have a need to address the institution of the prosecutor’s office as a body to protect the rights of children, I always face a lively response and instant reaction. Just recently there was an incident with a child who was physically abused. The prosecutor’s office promptly responded, and in two days we received the necessary documents to help the child, – said Aksana Kalenova.
Recall, the current Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan was adopted at a national referendum on August 30, 1995. June 5, 2022 held a national referendum on amendments to the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
