‘HELLO, UNIVERSITY!’ TRACK AND FIELD RACE WAS LAUNCHED

Amanzholov University hosted the opening ceremony of the annual athletics cross-country race. First-year students and teachers were united by the sports race ‘Hello, university’. The athletics competition was held on the sports ground in the park ‘Samal’. The goal of the event was simple – to inspire students to strive for new knowledge through sport.

On the start, attention, march! The first-year students of four higher schools and a higher college started lightning fast. The main rule is to cover the distance of one kilometre as fast as possible.

-It’s important for us to show our new student audience the importance of sport, because it’s not only healthy, it’s fun. Each start is a leap into the big voyage called ‘university’. Our university has produced many successful athletes. Remember the recent victory of our student Akmaral Nuatbek, she won gold in Paris at the Paralympics. And there are many such examples. We are proud of our athletes and are always ready to support them,’ said the rector of the university Mukhtar Tolegen.

Prominent athletes of the city, region, republic and winners of international competitions in various sports came to support the first-year students.

– Last year we were pioneers ourselves. We took part in the sports race with responsibility. Today we came to support the first-year students. May the strongest win, – said the champion of RK in taekwando Bekarys Bekenov.

It should be noted that students and teachers assessed the students-athletes and teachers National judge of international category Alexander Kruglikov.
