STUDENTS FROM ALL OVER KAZAKHSTAN PLAYED THE GAME “ANTIKOR QUIZ-2024”

On the eve of the 10th anniversary of the Anti-Corruption Service of the Republic of Kazakhstan, student teams from all over Kazakhstan competed for the first time in an intellectual quiz game on anti-corruption topics. Students from 10 regions of the country were represented by six-person teams led by compliance officers. The exciting intellectual competition was organised by S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University together with the Anti-Corruption Service of East Kazakhstan region and included seven different stages. The modern interactive format allowed to form a unified system of fighting corruption among young people and to show the harm it causes to the state.

– The quiz game is an advanced format for shaping patriotic values, competitiveness and anti-corruption culture among young people. Young people who strive to prevent corruption and eliminate its consequences are the main wealth of our country,’ said Denis Shakenov, Head of the Department of the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan on Combating Corruption in East Kazakhstan region.

During the game, the students shone with erudition, logic and cleverness, thus increasing the level of anti-corruption culture. Three rounds out of seven were devoted to anti-corruption topics, while the remaining rounds included a screening of Kazakhstan’s anti-corruption films and a stage with images for wit and erudition. In addition, the participants played a musical competition.

– Young people make up a significant part of Kazakhstan’s population and are more open to social change and political transformation. The state actively involves young people in various anti-corruption programmes and activities. Participation of students in today’s republican quiz game contributes to the improvement of anti-corruption culture, formation of zero tolerance to corruption as a civic position of young people, – said Mukhtar Tolegen, rector of S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.

According to the results of the intellectual competition, the first place was taken by the team “Taza kol” of Amanzholov University, honourable second place – “Alashorda” from Abay region, third place – “Yish anyk” also from Abay region. The teams were awarded diplomas and cash prizes.

– It was a fair, interesting and informative competition. Our team was strong in the round ‘Bүgіngі taqyryp’, here we answered all 12 questions correctly. We also coped well with the stage about films, and other intellectual tasks were not difficult for us. We hope that our example will inspire young people to actively fight corruption,’ said Kainar Zhexembayev, captain of the Taza Kol team and compliance officer.

It should be noted that more than 60 artworks on anti-corruption topics were presented at the exhibition, as well as a warm atmosphere of the quiz-game was given by musical accompaniment from talented artists of Abdullin College and a theatrical show programme prepared by activists of East Kazakhstan University.
