Today, S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University celebrated Knowledge Day.
The event began with a performance of the work of the great Kazakh poet Abay Kunanbayev, “Közimniq karasy.” The university’s creative team, the Shabyt student theater, surprised the audience with excerpts from the author’s prose.
The event was attended by veteran professors, first-year students, and faculty members. In his welcoming speech, University Rector Mukhtar Tolegen congratulated all students on the start of the new academic year and highlighted some important points.
“This year, our university enrolled about 3,000 applicants. The university achieved high results in testing that assessed the knowledge of teachers. This once again confirmed the quality of our education. We have implemented modern educational programs and established close ties with foreign universities. In addition, this year about 200 students were enrolled in the Serpin program. I wish young people to be bold and stride decisively into the future, said Mukhtar Tolegen.
It should be noted that at the end of the celebration, the university’s faculty was awarded honorary awards for their contribution to the development of science.
In addition, named scholarships were awarded to Aize Taukenova, a first-year student in the Kazakh Language and Literature program, and Zeynep Miyatbek, a first-year student in the Psychology program.
“I would like to express my gratitude to the university rector for his support and trust. I believe that within the walls of this university, I will be able to become a good specialist and justify that trust,” said Zeynep Miyatbek.
