EXCURSION FOR STUDENTS OF THE “CHEMISTRY-BIOLOGY” EDUCATIONAL PROGRAM

Professor, Candidate of Biological Sciences Gulnaz Sadykanova and Senior Lecturer Sän Orazova, together with students of the “Chemistry-Biology” educational program, organized an excursion to the Akbauyr archaeological complex. During the trip, students became acquainted with the unique features of this historical and cultural monument.

“The introductory excursion was very interesting and informative. We would like to thank Asylbek Soltanov, the tour guide from the East Kazakhstan Museum of Arts,” shared one of the university students.

On the territory of the complex, the participants learned about the history of the site, saw petroglyphs from different eras, Bronze Age burial monuments, as well as early Iron Age burial mounds.

“The paintings made with purple ochre on the cave walls date back to the 3rd – early 1st millennium BC. Complex rituals and burial ceremonies linked to the seasonal-calendar cycle took place here, as well as astronomical observations of the Sun, Moon, and stars,” noted Professor Gulnaz Sadykanova.

The Akbauyr archaeological complex is rightfully considered an energy and information center. Worldwide, there are only two similar complexes with drawings and inscriptions inside a stone cave. In addition, Akbauyr had a religious significance: rituals connected to the veneration of mountains and ancestors were held here.
