THE FUTURE OF DIGITAL TECHNOLOGIES: STUDENTS OF SARSEN AMANZHOLOV EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY PRESENT THEIR ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE PROJECTS
In Kazakhstan, as part of the “Artificial Intelligence Week” held from September 29 to October 4, 2025, a student scientific project competition titled “Artificial Intelligence in IT Design” took place. The event was organized by the Department of Computer Modeling and Information Technologies. The main goal of the competition was to identify and support original ideas of talented young people, as well as to promote research initiatives in the field of digital technologies.
The competition was held in accordance with the Address of the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, dated September 8, 2025, “Kazakhstan in the Era of Artificial Intelligence: Current Challenges and Their Solutions Through Digital Transformation,” and in line with the directives of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
Participants included first- to fourth-year students from the educational programs “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence,” “Informatics (IP),” “Information Systems,” “Mathematics and Informatics,” and “Computer Mechatronics.” Their projects covered some of the most promising areas of artificial intelligence — from machine learning and generative technologies to AI-based digital tools in education, big data analysis, and the development of applied applications. Among the presented solutions were projects such as “AI Student Time Manager” for effective time management, “AI Design Hub” for creative digital product development, and various chatbots designed for educational and social purposes.
Particular interest was sparked by projects such as “Damumed and Artificial Intelligence,” an application for analyzing student code quality, a photo enhancement system for educational use, a Telegram bot for anonymous reporting of bullying cases, and intelligent platforms designed to support students and teachers. These ideas demonstrated the wide range of AI applications — from medicine and education to social initiatives.
Based on the results of the competition, the jury highly evaluated the projects of “Informatics (IP)” students Syrym Alimbekov and Nurassyl Keneskhanov, Alexey Khorev and Yaroslav Rusakov from the “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence” program, as well as “Information Systems” students Askhat Cheriyazdanov, Nurzhan Nurlykanov, and Nurassyl Ormanbekov. The project of Merkhat Maksatuly, a student of “Robotics and Artificial Intelligence,” was also recognized among the best.
The competition became an important platform for showcasing student ideas in the field of artificial intelligence. It demonstrated the strong interest of young people in developing digital solutions that can strengthen scientific potential and make a valuable contribution to the advancement of education, technology, and the social sphere of Kazakhstan.
