STUDENTS OF AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY JOINED THE DONOR SEARCH CAMPAIGN

Students of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University took part in a charitable campaign aimed at helping patients in need of bone marrow donation.

The event focuses on forming a database of potential bone marrow donors, as every person, by donating just nine milliliters of blood, can give someone a chance at life.

“We came to the blood center to find out whether we could become bone marrow donors for the boy. Even if our blood doesn’t match, we might save another person — and that is very important,” noted Buldyrshin Kairat, a third-year student of the “Preschool Education and Upbringing” program.

Anyone aged 18 to 45 and weighing over 40 kg can take part. The procedure is completely safe and painless, and blood can be donated without fasting.

About 60 university students participated in the event. Each of them sincerely wanted to help the child, because no one is protected from such situations.

“This was my first time donating blood, and it felt like a big responsibility. If every person takes this step, many lives can be saved,” shared Nazym Berikkizy, a second-year student of the “Foreign Language” program.

If a donor’s genetic profile matches that of a patient, medical specialists will contact them for the next steps. Even if no match is found, the data will remain in the system and could save another life in the future.

Amanzholov University emphasizes that student participation in such social initiatives fosters civic responsibility, compassion, and readiness to help those in need.
