AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY STUDENT WON TWO AWARDS AT ONE TOURNAMENT
A second-year student of the “Jurisprudence” educational program at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, Daryn Sansyzbaev, won two gold medals at the republican grappling and jiu-jitsu tournament held in the city of Semey.
Additionally, in the city of Ridder, Daryn repeated his success, again taking first place in both disciplines in the weight category up to 66 kg.
Daryn has been practicing jiu-jitsu and grappling for about eight years. He is a candidate for master of sports in grappling, a bronze medalist at the Asian Championship, and a multiple champion and prizewinner of international and republican tournaments.
According to the athlete, what attracts him to martial arts is not only physical training but also inner discipline, self-improvement, and respect for the opponent.
“Here, it is important not only to have physical superiority but also character, self-control, and persistence. Each training session is a step toward the strongest version of yourself,” Daryn Sansyzbaev noted.
The athlete has set an ambitious goal — to become a world champion and raise the flag of Kazakhstan on the global stage. He seeks to develop not only as an athlete but also as a person, inspiring others through his example.
Despite his active sports engagement, Daryn successfully combines it with his studies. The university supports him — teachers are understanding of his participation in competitions and help make up for missed classes. Daryn strives to maintain a high level of academic performance and emphasizes that for him, it is important to win not only on the sports mat but also in his studies.
Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University is proud of its student-athletes and welcomes news of their achievements. Behind every award stands not only the athlete’s hard work and persistence but also the support, understanding, and belief of the teachers in the success of their students.
