A SEMINAR ON THE IMPLEMENTATION OF INTERNATIONAL HUMANITARIAN LAW STANDARDS WAS HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

The Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Humanitarian Sciences at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, together with the East Kazakhstan branch of the Red Crescent Society of the Republic of Kazakhstan, held a seminar on the topic “Implementation of International Humanitarian Law Norms and Practical Activities of the Red Crescent Society of Kazakhstan.”

During the event, Asel Omarkanova, a lecturer at the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Humanitarian Sciences, spoke about the legal status and humanitarian mission that underpins the interaction between International Humanitarian Law and the Red Crescent Society of Kazakhstan.

Sholpan Kasenova, a representative of the East Kazakhstan regional branch of the Red Crescent Society, emphasized that the Red Crescent Society is an integral part of the world’s largest humanitarian movement and plays a key role in implementing and promoting its principles at the national level. She noted that the role of the Red Crescent Society as a national organization is to serve as a link between high legal standards and the real needs of people in difficult life situations.

During the seminar, the student volunteer clubs of East Kazakhstan University, “Shuaq” and “Meyirim,” presented their activities and shared their experience participating in social and charitable initiatives.
