STUDENTS OF AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY VISITED INSTITUTION NO. 17 OF THE CIS COMMITTEE OF THE MINISTRY OF INTERNAL AFFAIRS OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN AS PART OF THE “OPEN DOOR DAY” EVENT

Students of the “Jurisprudence” program (6B04201) at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University participated in the “Open Door Day” event. The event took place at Institution No. 17 of the Criminal Executive System Committee of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

The tour and introduction to the institution’s activities were conducted by the Deputy Head – Justice Lieutenant Colonel Arman Kartranov. For students, this was an opportunity to gain detailed insight into the work of the criminal executive system and the internal structure of the correctional facility.

During the event, students were provided with information about the structure and functions of the institution; the regime and conditions of prisoner detention; the library and educational block; the dining hall and utility areas; long-visit rooms; and the production area where prisoners work as part of vocational programs.

Future lawyers received explanations on legal regulation of punishments, organization of prisoners’ daily life, and resocialization mechanisms. Students observed the daily work of the institution and legal procedures from the inside.

A special part of the event was the meeting between students and prisoners. During the discussion, prisoners shared their life stories, described their mistakes, and explained the circumstances that led to committing offenses. For students, this was an important experience that helped them gain a deeper understanding of criminal responsibility, life choices, and social rehabilitation.

Participation in such events helps students of EKU not only expand their legal knowledge but also develop social responsibility, humanistic values, and the ability to reflect on their place in society. This experience is an important step in the professional development of future specialists.
