“WRITINGS IN THE HEART”: WRITER, COMPOSER, PUBLIC FIGURE AKIM YSSAK AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

Today, at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, a creative meeting titled “Writings in the Heart” was held, dedicated to the 65th anniversary of the outstanding figure of Kazakh spiritual culture — writer, poet, journalist, composer, and public figure Akim Yssak. The event brought together faculty, students, and honored guests, becoming a significant occasion in the cultural life of the university.

Akim Yssak’s creative path holds a special place in national literature and art. His writings speak of the people’s pain, his poetry emerges from the depths of the heart, and his songs have become the voice of an entire generation. He is a personality carrying spiritual responsibility not only for one genre but for an entire era, whose work shapes moral guidelines and cultural values in society.

As customary, the welcoming address was delivered by the chairman of the board — rector of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, Professor Mukhtar Tolegen. In his speech, the rector highlighted Akim Abdikhaymuly’s significant contribution to the development of national spirituality, emphasizing the importance of his works for educating youth and strengthening cultural identity.

The program of the meeting featured vivid creative performances. The university’s student theater “Shabyt” staged a production dedicated to the jubilarian’s work, leaving a strong impression on the audience. The evening continued with heartfelt dedications from young writers — members of the poetic associations “Qalamger” and “Oqyrman,” who expressed their respect and gratitude to the master of words.

During the event, Akim Yssak presented students and university faculty with honorary certificates for their achievements in promoting his work. The awards recognized active efforts to raise the status of the state language, promote national spiritual values, and cultivate in youth a boundless love for their homeland. This moment served as a vivid confirmation of the continuity between generations and the living connection of the writer’s work with the modern educational environment.

A significant highlight of the event was the ceremonial awarding of the title of Honorary Professor to Akim Abdikhaymuly Yssak. The corresponding decision was made by the Academic Council of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University on November 27, 2025. This high title recognized his contributions to science, culture, and society, as well as his many years of fruitful work.

The central part of the meeting was Akim Yssak’s own speech. The writer and public figure shared memories, reflections on creativity, life values, and the responsibility of words, noting the important role of youth in preserving and developing spiritual heritage. Following his speech, a lively dialogue with students took place, during which they asked questions and received meaningful and sincere answers.

The evening concluded with a touching ritual conducted according to Kazakh tradition. As a sign of pure intentions, deep respect, and generosity of spirit, on behalf of the university rector Mukhtar Adilbekovich, a sacred shapan was draped over Akim Abdikhaymuly’s shoulders. This gesture became a symbol of recognition and gratitude for his contribution to the spiritual and cultural development of society.
