AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY TOOK PART IN AN EXTENDED MEETING OF THE BOARD OF THE MINISTRY OF SCIENCE AND HIGHER EDUCATION OF THE REPUBLIC OF KAZAKHSTAN
At the initiative of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, an extended meeting of the Board was held under the theme “Higher Education and Science: The Year of Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence.”
During the meeting, the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, presented the results of 2025 and outlined priority tasks for 2026. In his report, the Minister focused on the interconnection between higher education and scientific research, the integration of modern digital technologies and artificial intelligence into the educational process, and the strategic importance of supporting young scientists and researchers.
Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University actively participated in the large-scale event, presenting its scientific potential. On behalf of the university, a project on the commercialization of composite filtering materials for water purification was showcased at the exhibition of scientific projects. The filtration system Aqua-Saf, developed within the framework of the project, is a fully domestic product.
The key distinction of the product from commercial analogues lies in the use of modified carbon and graphene oxide in the production of filtering elements. This technology enables effective removal of harmful contaminants from water. In addition, the filtering elements are entirely manufactured using local raw materials. The scientific supervisor of the project is Tilek Kuanyshbekov.
During the exhibition, the presented project attracted particular interest and received high praise from Minister Sayasat Nurbek.
As part of the meeting, lectures and presentations were also organized on a number of relevant topics, including: “Developing Potential through Higher Education and Technology Transfer”; “The Modern Model of Engineering Education: Digitalization, Industrial Integration, and International Cooperation”; and “Business and Higher Education: Interaction Potential and Support for Young Scientists.”
Amanzholov University intends to continue supporting national initiatives aimed at advancing higher education and science, systematically implementing innovative projects, supporting young researchers, and promoting the commercialization of scientific results.
