AS PART OF THE NAURYZNAMA DECADE, AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY PRESENTED THE “ҚҰДАЛЫҚ” TRADITION

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, as part of the Nauryznama decade, a cultural event was held dedicated to promoting the national traditions of the Kazakh people. The event was organized by the Department of Kazakh and Russian Philology and Journalism.

During the event, a theatrical performance was presented, showcasing one of the significant family rituals of the Kazakh people — Qudalyq. The main goal of the performance was to familiarize young people with the rich cultural heritage, promote folk customs, and highlight their educational and informative significance.

The stage composition demonstrated the main stages of the ritual: matchmaking, the meeting of the matchmakers, as well as the traditions of gift exchange and adherence to established customs and rituals. Participants aimed to accurately convey the atmosphere of traditional Kazakh matchmaking, emphasizing its symbolic and social importance.

Special attention during the event was given to family values of the Kazakh people, respect for elders, and the strengthening of family ties. National costumes, traditional speech forms, and elements of ritual culture made the performance more colorful and meaningful, leaving a strong impression on the audience.

The event was an important contribution to the preservation and promotion of national traditions and helped strengthen students’ interest in the cultural heritage and spiritual values of the Kazakh people.
