AN INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC CONFERENCE WAS HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

An international scientific and practical conference titled “Historical and Cultural Heritage of East Kazakhstan: Research, Preservation, and Interpretation in the Modern Scientific Space” was held at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. The event was dedicated to the memory of the outstanding educator, scholar, local historian, and museologist Raisa Samuilovna Fyodorova.

The conference was opened by Vice-Rector for Educational and Social Work Zhanneta Kalimoldina. Welcoming remarks were also delivered by the Dean of the Higher School of Humanities, Slyambek Orazalin, and the Head of the Department, Ayauly Nurbekova, who emphasized the significance of the scholar’s scientific legacy. A video message was sent from Germany by R.S. Fyodorova’s daughter, Irina Veynberg.

During the event, participants shared their memories of the scholar’s academic and teaching activities. Among the speakers were Zhanar Kalikanovna Bukanova, Director of the East Kazakhstan branch of the Academy of Public Administration under the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan; Irina Borisovna Kalanchina, Chair of the Kazakhstan Association of Members of the Union of Writers of Russia and Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Altai Izumrudny”; Assel Omarkankyzy Omarkanova, Senior Lecturer of the Department of History of Kazakhstan and Social and Humanitarian Disciplines at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, Master of History; and Ardak Kurmanbaevna Abdrakhmanova, Senior Lecturer at the Kazakh-American Free University.

As part of the conference, issues related to the study and preservation of the historical and cultural heritage of East Kazakhstan were discussed, and special attention was given to R.S. Fyodorova’s contribution to the development of local history studies.
