THE IV INTERNATIONAL OLYMPIAD ON TOURISM WAS HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

At the Higher School of Business and Law of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, the Department of Economics, Management and Finance successfully organized and held the IV International Olympiad on Tourism at a high level.

Students from Central Asian countries and partner universities abroad took part in the Olympiad. The participating countries included Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, the People’s Republic of China, and Mongolia. The competition also featured students from Turan University, Almaty Management University, Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages named after Abylai Khan, Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC), S. Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, and Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University.

The Olympiad was evaluated by international experts in the field of tourism. The jury included tourism ambassador in Switzerland and founder of INDY GUIDE Ati Tosun, as well as Vice President of the Kazakhstan Association of Agro- and Rural Tourism, Director of GLOBAL INVEST INTERNATIONAL LLP, and organizer of the NOMAD 4X4 tourist club, Almas Tangytovich Seterbayev.

Participants presented and defended projects on modern trends in tourism, digital technologies, and the application of artificial intelligence in the industry.

According to the results of the Olympiad, the Grand Prix and the title “Tourism Leader” were awarded to the team consisting of Ali Kamataev, Xu MinMin, and Yan Mingzhen (scientific supervisor: L. M. Akhmetova; topic: “Ecotourism and Cultural Heritage of East Kazakhstan”).

First place was awarded to students of Azerbaijan State University of Economics (UNEC) and Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. Second place went to students of Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and Abylai Khan Kazakh University of International Relations and World Languages. Third place was awarded to representatives of Turan University, Karaganda University of Kazpotrebsoyuz, and Almaty Management University.

In addition, students of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University were recognized in special nominations such as “Tourism Expert,” “Best Video Film,” “Best Guides,” “Best Hospitality Business,” “Best Organizers,” and “Best Idea Generators.”
