AN INTERACTIVE MEETING “PRO LABOR RIGHTS” WAS HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY
An interactive meeting titled “Pro Labor Rights” dedicated to students’ labor rights was organized at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. The main purpose of the event was to improve the legal literacy of young people, discuss current issues in labor relations, and familiarize students with mechanisms for protecting their rights.
The meeting was held in the format of an open dialogue. As part of the program, participants took part in an anonymous survey using a QR code, where they shared their experiences regarding issues such as working without an employment contract, violations by employers, social contributions, and legal protection. The results showed that a significant number of students face legal risks in employment activities.
During the event, Rector of the university, Professor Mukhtar Tolegen, delivered a speech emphasizing the importance of increasing the level of legal protection for young people in the context of changes in the modern labor market. He highlighted the university’s systematic work in providing legal support to students, establishing effective interaction with employers, and creating conditions for the professional development of future specialists.
The program included discussions of common myths, analysis of real cases, and presentations by experts. Representatives of the Prosecutor’s Office of the East Kazakhstan Region and the labor inspection provided concrete examples of violations of students’ labor rights and explained legal protection mechanisms and action algorithms. Participants were also introduced to five key steps to consider before employment.
Special attention was paid to the digital labor market, including discussions about the risks of freelancing and online work. Speakers emphasized the importance of digital evidence such as screenshots, correspondence, and payment histories for protecting one’s rights.
During the interactive part of the meeting, participants analyzed specific situations and jointly discussed ways to respond to labor rights violations. Experts supplemented the proposed solutions and presented effective legal action algorithms.
At the end of the event, students asked questions and received direct answers from specialists. Organizers noted that such meetings play an important role in shaping the legal culture of young people and supporting conscious career choices.
The meeting provided students with practical knowledge necessary for understanding the basic principles of labor relations, assessing risks, and effectively protecting their rights.
