Applicants for teaching majors must pass a special exam. The special exam consists of a pedagogical situation and is designed to assess the applicant's aptitude for teaching.

Admission Requirements

International students are admitted on a paid basis based on interview results. Education documents issued by foreign institutions are recognized or nostrified in accordance with the law.

What you need to know about recognition of foreign documents

What is nostrification?

Nostrification is the procedure for determining the equivalence of education documents issued in other countries, in cases where no international treaty on recognition of education documents exists with that country.

Which authority conducts nostrification?

National Accreditation Centre of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan (NAC MoSHE RK).

Where to submit documents for nostrification?

Documents are accepted through: the Committee for Control in Education and Science MoSHE RK (Astana) or the State Corporation "Government for Citizens" (Service Center).

Processing time

No more than four months from the submission of all required information.

Documents for Nostrification

Notarized copies of the education document and transcript (translated into Kazakh/Russian)
Transcript (original) listing all subjects, credit hours and grades
Notarized translation of the education document into Kazakh and/or Russian
Notarized copy of identity document (with translation)
Copy of license and/or accreditation certificate of the issuing institution

Education documents must be apostilled or legalized. An apostille is the international form of document authentication for countries party to the Hague Convention of 1961.

Serpin-2050 Program

For applicants from labor-surplus regions

Main goal of the program — education and employment of youth from southern regions (Almaty, South Kazakhstan, Zhambyl, Kyzylorda oblasts) in the east, north and west of Kazakhstan — regions with workforce shortages.

For persons with technical, vocational or post-secondary education

Persons with the qualification of "mid-level specialist" or "applied bachelor", applying to related programs, are admitted on a paid basis with a shortened period of study without taking the UNT.
