INTERNATIONAL SCIENTIFIC AND EDUCATIONAL CONFERENCE HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

An international scientific and educational conference entitled “EDU SHIFT: Adaptive Technologies, Future Skills and Sustainable Practices” was held at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. The conference was dedicated to the 60th anniversary of Irina Vladimirovna Rovnyakova, Deputy Chairman of the Board – Vice Rector for Strategic Development and International Cooperation, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Associate Professor, and Academician of the Academy of Pedagogical Sciences.

The large-scale academic forum focused on contemporary transformations in the education system, digital transformation, opportunities for the application of artificial intelligence, the development of future-oriented professional competencies, and sustainable educational practices.

The conference brought together leading scholars from Kazakhstan, heads of higher education institutions, as well as international experts from Romania and Tajikistan. The event was conducted in both in-person and online formats, enabling broad participation from international partners.

The conference opened with a welcome address by Amirkhan Rakhymzhanov, Chairperson of the University’s Board of Directors, who highlighted the university’s achievements in the scientific and educational sphere.

The guest of honour, Irina Vladimirovna Rovnyakova, delivered a presentation entitled “Together with an Era of Change: 35 Years of Transformation of Kazakhstan’s Education — From the First Reforms to the Digital Future.” In her presentation, she provided a comprehensive analysis of the stages of development of the country’s education sector during the years of independence.

Among the international speakers, Professor Silviu Dan Mandru of the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca presented the university’s experience with project-based learning in higher education. Karimjon Gadoev, Head of the International Relations Department at Sotim Ulugzoda Tajik International University of Foreign Languages, spoke about the importance of blended learning and artificial intelligence in the development of language education in Central Asia.

Svetlana Sakhariyeva, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, also delivered a presentation on the development of teacher education at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University and current directions for its advancement.

As part of the conference, a book exhibition entitled “Transformation of Education: Scientific Works and Pedagogical Innovations” was organized, featuring academic works by university scholars and contemporary research projects.

The anniversary programme also included a special video dedicated to Irina Vladimirovna Rovnyakova. University staff, alumni, social partners, and international colleagues extended their warm congratulations to the honouree. In addition, she was presented with an anniversary congratulatory letter recognizing her long-standing contribution to the development of science and education, as well as her high level of professionalism.

The international conference served as an important platform for discussing current issues in education, strengthening scientific cooperation, and exchanging best practices.
