THE SECRET LIFE OF PLANTS: FROM THE NATURAL WORLD TO SCIENTIFIC DISCOVERY AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, the Department of Biology of the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences held its first introductory lecture for first-year students.

Zhamal Tursyngozhakovna Igisinova, Candidate of Biological Sciences and Associate Professor, delivered a lecture entitled “The Secret Life of Plants.”

During the lecture, students were introduced to the diversity of the plant world, the key features of plant life processes, and the important role of plants in nature. Particular attention was paid to plant adaptation to environmental conditions, their interrelationships, and their significance in human life. Students actively participated in the lecture, asked questions, and exchanged opinions.

The first meeting also became an important step in introducing students to the University’s academic and scientific environment. It was emphasised that successful study requires not only the acquisition of theoretical knowledge, but also a continuous commitment to personal development, curiosity about the world, the ability to observe and analyse, ask questions, and independently seek answers.

Such educational meetings contribute to broadening the horizons of first-year students, developing a scientific worldview, unlocking their research potential, increasing their interest in learning, supporting successful adaptation to university life, and helping them identify directions for their future professional development.
