EMPLOYMENT OPPORTUNITIES IN ALTAI DISTRICT DISCUSSED AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

A meeting between fourth-year students and representatives of Altai District was held at Amanzholov University. The event focused on employment opportunities for future graduates, staffing needs of educational institutions, and working conditions for young professionals. Such meetings are traditionally held at the University as part of cooperation with regions and potential employers.

The Chairman of the Board – Rector Gulzhan Jarassova delivered a welcoming address to the participants.

The meeting was also attended by Deputy Chairman of the Board – Vice Rector for Strategic Development and International Cooperation Irina Rovnyakova, deans of the University’s Higher Schools, and students.

Altai District was represented by Acting Akim Zhanna Askarovna Askarova. Participants were informed about the socio-economic development of the district, its education system, and career opportunities available to young professionals.

Currently, 35 general education schools operate in Altai District. One of the areas of cooperation with Amanzholov University is assistance with graduate employment. Cooperation between the two sides has shown positive results: over the past three years, around 130 applicants from the district have become students of Amanzholov University. In 2026, 29 University graduates were employed by educational institutions in the district.

Students received up-to-date information on staffing needs in schools, working conditions, and support measures available to young professionals. The opportunities presented included professional development and housing support.

A significant part of the meeting was devoted to the development of modern educational infrastructure. Schools in the district are equipped with 48 modern classrooms for chemistry, physics, and biology, as well as four specialized demonstration classrooms. The educational process also makes use of 35 IT and robotics classrooms.

The development of rural schools was also highlighted. For the second consecutive year, educational institutions in the district have participated in the “Developing the Potential of Rural Hub Schools” programme. The provision of modern technical equipment expands opportunities for improving the educational process and introducing contemporary teaching approaches.

Practical information about school operations was presented by Almash Kabdylovna Nurmukhambetova, Principal of Secondary School No. 7 in Altai, and Lyudmila Borisovna Skripnik, Principal of Secondary School No. 11 in Altai. They spoke about the specific features of their schools and career prospects for young teachers.

At the end of the meeting, the parties outlined further areas of cooperation. One of the proposals was to organize an introductory visit for students to schools in Altai District. This will allow future graduates not only to learn more about employment opportunities but also to see the schools’ facilities and working conditions firsthand.

Cooperation between Amanzholov University and Altai District helps strengthen the connection between professional training and the needs of the education system and contributes to expanding employment opportunities for graduates.
