LIFELONG LEARNING OPPORTUNITIES ARE EXPANDING AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY
Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University is consistently developing initiatives aimed at implementing the principle of lifelong learning. This approach enables people to improve their professional knowledge, acquire new skills, and adapt to changes in the labor market in a timely manner.
The University offers continuing education programmes, teacher retraining and professional development courses, as well as educational initiatives for older adults.
Microqualification programmes are becoming one of the most in-demand areas. Today, the University offers 44 such programmes designed to provide rapid acquisition of skills relevant to the labor market and to expand professional competencies. Particular attention is paid to practical training, while current employer needs are taken into account when developing course content.
Professional retraining in the field of education also plays an important role. In the 2026–2027 academic year, training is available in mathematics, chemistry, biology, geography, history, Kazakh language and literature, Russian language and literature, English language, and special education. Upon completion of the programme, participants receive an officially recognized certificate.
Professional development programmes allow participants to update their professional knowledge and master modern tools. These courses are designed for teachers, civil servants, social sector specialists, and employees of enterprises. The programmes focus on modern methods and technologies that can be directly applied in professional activities.
The principle of lifelong learning also extends to older adults. As part of the “Silver University” project, courses are offered in digital and financial literacy, the basics of entrepreneurship, the use of social networks and online platforms, Kazakh and foreign languages, local history, psychology, art therapy, creative activities, and health and wellness.
The development of the lifelong learning system expands the University’s educational opportunities and makes learning more accessible to people of different ages, professions, and social groups. The knowledge gained helps participants not only improve their existing competencies but also discover new professional opportunities.
Thus, Amanzholov University continues to develop a modern educational environment in which learning is not a separate stage of life, but a natural part of a person’s professional and personal development throughout life.
