DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ SCIENTIFIC POTENTIAL THROUGH RESEARCH ACTIVITIES

Anatoly Pavlovich Tsyganov, Head of the branch of the Department of Ecology and Geography of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, Candidate of Biological Sciences and Professor of RAE, conducted an educational seminar for the administrative and teaching staff of Secondary School No. 31.

The seminar was entitled “Conditions for the Successful Organization of Research Activities with School Students.” The event was aimed at developing students’ research activities, improving teachers’ methodological competencies, and strengthening cooperation between the University and the secondary school.

During the seminar, participants considered the main stages and logic of organizing scientific research, the specific features of developing students’ research skills, and the conditions required to establish an effective system of research activities at school.

Particular attention was paid to the creation of a scientific association for school students, which is planned to be developed as an experimental platform of the Department of Ecology and Geography. This initiative will make it possible to organize systematic student research with scientific and methodological support from the University.

Participants also discussed the organization of consultations, academic support for individual research projects undertaken by students and teachers, and the involvement of Department faculty members as research supervisors. Cooperation between school teachers and University faculty will create additional opportunities for implementing research initiatives, conducting scientific observations and experiments, preparing project work, and developing students’ analytical thinking.

An important outcome of the seminar was the establishment of an organizational foundation for further career guidance activities with school students. Cooperation with Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University will enable students to learn more about areas of scientific research, higher education opportunities, and prospects for professional development in ecology and the natural sciences.

Such events help strengthen cooperation between schools and universities, develop a research culture among students, and create conditions for identifying and supporting talented young people. The development of scientific and educational cooperation is an important step toward training future specialists and fostering school students’ lasting interest in science.
