“VANISHING VOICES OF NATURE” PHOTO AND VIDEO EXHIBITION HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY
The Department of Biology of the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University hosted the “Vanishing Voices of Nature” photo and video exhibition. Dedicated to environmental protection and the conservation of rare animal and plant species, the event was organized as a creative competition.
Students of the 6B08301 Forest Resources, Game Management and Beekeeping and 6B05101 Biology educational programs, as well as students of the Sarsen Amanzholov Higher College, took part in the competition.
Through photographs and video materials, participants presented the beauty of East Kazakhstan’s natural environment and the diversity of the region’s flora and fauna. At the same time, they highlighted current environmental challenges, including pollution, declining populations of rare species, and the destruction of their natural habitats.
The main purpose of the exhibition was to foster a caring attitude toward nature among young people, raise awareness of the importance of biodiversity conservation, and promote environmental culture. The creative competition gave students an opportunity to demonstrate their abilities and express their own views on environmental protection through photography and video art.
The special guest of the event was Alisa Sergeyevna Shmurygina, a graduate of the Department of Biology and a wildlife photographer. She shared her professional experience with the participants and spoke about the role of nature photography in environmental education, encouraging responsible attitudes toward the environment, and supporting the conservation of rare animal and plant species.
The photographer’s professional journey clearly demonstrated the connection between biological education and creativity and became an inspiring example for young researchers and students interested in art.
The exhibition was aimed not only at promoting the unique beauty of nature but also at raising awareness of our shared responsibility for its preservation. Such initiatives contribute to improving environmental literacy among young people, fostering respect for the natural heritage of their home region, and developing a sense of responsibility for its future.
The organizers expressed their gratitude to all students who took part in the exhibition and presented their works for their creativity, initiative, and caring attitude toward nature.
