SEMINAR ON THE EFFECTIVE USE OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY
Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University held a seminar dedicated to the effective use of artificial intelligence tools for developing students’ professional competencies.
The main purpose of the event was to explore approaches to the conscious and responsible use of artificial intelligence in the educational process, taking into account how the human brain functions, as well as to identify methods that support the development of students’ cognitive abilities.
Irina Konstantinovna Matskevich, Professor at the Department of Psychology and Correctional Pedagogy, used specific examples to explain how the prefrontal cortex, hippocampus, and neural networks function when performing different learning tasks. Particular attention was paid to the processes of perception and memorization, thinking, and the practical application of acquired knowledge.
During the meeting, faculty members also considered the possibility of developing declarations and guidelines regulating the use of artificial intelligence tools in academic activities. Participants exchanged views on the principles of AI use, academic integrity, and students’ responsibility when completing academic assignments.
The key conclusion of the seminar was that artificial intelligence should not replace human thinking, but rather contribute to its development. The conscious and responsible use of AI helps students develop critical thinking, information analysis, and independent decision-making skills – competencies essential for successful learning and future professional activities.
