SCIENTIFIC MEETING FOR DOCTORAL STUDENTS HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

The Department of Ecology and Geography of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University held a scientific meeting for doctoral students of the 8D01506 Geography educational program. The meeting was attended by Alexander Nikolaevich Dunets, Doctor of Geographical Sciences and Professor at the Department of Economic Geography and Cartography of the Institute of Geography at Altai State University.

The meeting was organized as part of the program for engaging international scholars. During the event, Professor Dunets provided consultations to doctoral students on preparing dissertation research and improving the quality of their scientific work.

Particular attention was paid to refining research goals and objectives, selecting scientific methods in accordance with the research tasks, and presenting the obtained results in a well-grounded and academically sound manner.

The professor also shared recommendations on preparing a scientific literature review. In particular, he explained the principles of selecting highly cited scientific publications, conducting comparative analysis of different authors’ approaches, and assessing the extent to which the research topic has been studied in the academic literature.

Alexander Nikolaevich also shared international experience in conducting dissertation research and provided specific recommendations on improving the structure and content of doctoral dissertations, taking into account the thematic focus of each doctoral student’s research.

The scientific meeting was aimed at systematizing doctoral students’ research activities, strengthening their scientific and methodological preparation, and improving the quality of dissertation research.
