Department of chemistry

The Department of Chemistry started its activity in 1953, which was part of the Faculty of Natural Sciences. By 1959, 51 students were enrolled in the Chemistry and Biology curriculum, where chemistry was the leading subject. During these years, specialists were trained as “Chemistry and Biology teachers” with a 5-year training period.

In 1972, the Department of Chemistry was divided into two separate departments: the Department of Organic and Biological Chemistry (Head of the Department). Ауэзов Zhumanazar Auezov) and General and inorganic chemistry (Head of the Department, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor ШашковViktor Ipatovich Shashkov). The Department of General and Inorganic Chemistry was recognized as one of the three reference departments in the republic.

From 1973-1974, Zinaida Kovalenok, Ph. D. in Chemical Sciences, held the position of Head of the Department of Organic and Biological Chemistry.

In 1975-76, the Department of Organic and Biological Chemistry was headed by Candidate of Chemical Sciences Margarita Voronova. 

Since 1977, there have been 3 departments. The Department of Organic and Biological Chemistry was headed by Doctor of Biological Sciences, Professor Zinaida Dolgova. The Department of Physical Chemistry was headed by Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor Nikolai Kharitonovich Pikov.

In 1984-on the basis of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry, 2 independent departments were created – inorganic chemistry and Chemical Technology; the Department of Analytical and Physical colloid Chemistry. From 1984 to 1992, the head of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry and Chemical Technology was PhD, Professor Uvaliev Yumash Karimovich.

In 2001, a postgraduate course was opened in the specialty 02.00.05 – “Electrochemistry”. Scientific supervisors of dissertations were professors: E. A. Mambetkaziev, D. Kh. Kamysbayev, A.M. Shaldybayeva.

Further, from 1994 to 1998, the head of the Department of Organic and Physical Chemistry was appointed Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor СтрунниковаNatalia Strunnikova.From 1999 to 2000, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences. Муйтунова Alma Tursyngazinovna Muitunova was appointed.

On January 1, 1996, under the guidance of the Dean of the Faculty, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor БайбатыроваE. N. Baibatyrov, a master’s degree in Chemistry was opened together with the teaching staff.

From 1998 to 2001, the head of inorganic and analytical chemistry was Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Professor Shaldybayeva Aiman Magzumovna.

In 2001, on the initiative and active participation of Academician E. A. Mambetkaziev and Candidateof Chemical Sciences A.M. Shaldybayeva, the III Beremzhanov Congress was held on the basis of the universityБеремжановский, which was attended – by chemical scientists from universities of far and near abroad.

From 2000 to 2001, he was the head of the Department of Organic and Physical Chemistry, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Professor Kamysbaev D. Kh., then Muzdybayeva Sharbanu Akkazinovna was appointed as the acting head Муздыбаева Шарбану of the department.

From 2001 to 2004, senior lecturer Tantybayeva Batima Smataevna served as the head of the Department of Inorganic and Organic Chemistry Батима Сматаевна.

Honorary Rector of EKSU, Professor Увалиев Юмаш Yumash Karimovich Uvaliev made a great contribution to the development of the Department of Chemistry.

In 2004, two departments were merged-Organic and Physical Chemistry and Biochemistry and BZH. Gulzhan Abylkasova, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, Associate Professor of EKSU, was appointed head of the Department. Екпергеновна.

In 2005, the department successfully passed the state certification. In January 2006, Candidate of Technical Sciences, Associate Professor Nikolay Gerasimovich Serba was appointed Director of the Research Institute “Clean Water and New Technologies”.

From 2004 to 2008, the head of the Department of Inorganic and Analytical Chemistry was appointed PhD, Associate Professor of the Higher Attestation Commission Aubakirova Roza Ablakimovna..

In 2008, as a result of the merger of two departments – inorganic and analytical, organic and Physical Chemistry, the Department of Chemistry was formed. Gulzhan Abylkasova, Candidate of Chemical Sciences, was appointed Head of the Department Абылкасова Гульжан of Chemistry.

From 2009 to 202.6, the Department of Chemistry was headed by PhD, Associate Professor Shaikhova Bakyt Kaliaskarovna.

Currently, the department is headed by Master of Chemistry Sagdollina Nazerke Rashidovna.
