A JUBILEE FORUM DEDICATED TO THE 100TH ANNIVERSARY OF KUMASH NURGALIYEV WAS HELD AT SARSEN AMANZHOLOV EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY

At Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, with the support of the Department of Education of East Kazakhstan Region, the Ministry of Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the Akimat of East Kazakhstan Region, a jubilee forum dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the birth of the People’s Teacher of the USSR, outstanding educator and enlightener Kumash Nurgaliev, was held.

Public figures of the Republic of Kazakhstan, representatives of scientific and educational organizations, labor veterans, university scholars, as well as more than 500 teachers took part in the work of the forum.

The Rector of the University, Professor Mukhtar Tolegen, congratulated the participants of the forum and noted the enormous contribution of Kumash Nurgaliev to the development of Kazakh pedagogy. He emphasized that the university pays special attention to the development of modern educational technologies, relying on the legacy of national enlighteners.

As part of the forum, an exhibition “Development of the innovative ideas of the People’s Teacher of the USSR Kumash Nurgaliev” was organized.

The exhibition presented the results of the development of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University in the areas of artificial intelligence and digitalization, innovations in education; the documentary film “Ańyz Adam” (“Legendary Personality”) was shown; and in the Kumash Nurgaliev Higher College a museum dedicated to the life and work of the outstanding educator was opened.

Former Member of the Mazhilis of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Svetlana Ferkho spoke at the forum with welcoming remarks, as well as, in an online format, Member of the Senate of the Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan Olga Bulavkina.

It should be noted that on the eve of the anniversary, on October 28, the ceremonial opening of the “Laboratory of Artificial Intelligence and Digital Pedagogy named after Kumash Nurgaliev” took place at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.

This laboratory is a strategic step of the university in integrating artificial intelligence technologies into the educational process and an important scientific and practical center for the region.
