DEVELOPING STUDENTS’ LEGAL CULTURE: INFORMATION AND AWARENESS MEETING UNDER THE “LAW AND ORDER” PRINCIPLE

An information and awareness meeting for first-year students was held at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University as part of the “Law and Order” principle.

The main purpose of the meeting was to improve students’ legal literacy, develop their legal culture, and strengthen safe behaviour skills. During the event, participants discussed compliance with the University’s internal regulations, legal responsibility, academic integrity, the development of an anti-corruption culture, as well as the prevention of gambling addiction and online fraud.

Dinara Alpysbayeva, Senior Operative Officer for Particularly Important Cases of the Department of Economic Investigations for East Kazakhstan Region, spoke about common types of online fraud and ways to protect against them, as well as the social consequences of gambling addiction.

Legal awareness activities were also conducted by Dulat Toleubekuly Kabyshev, Senior Operative Officer of the Criminal Police Unit of the Ulba District Police Department, and Dinara Myrzabekovna Zhaksybayeva, Juvenile Affairs Inspector. The specialists explained measures for preventing offences and maintaining public order.

Kainar Zheksembayev, Head of the Anti-Corruption Compliance Service and Compliance Officer, emphasised the importance of promoting academic integrity and developing an anti-corruption culture.

During the meeting, students had an opportunity to ask specialists questions and receive answers on current issues related to legal and digital safety.

The information and awareness activities were aimed at increasing students’ legal awareness, developing their ability to critically assess potential risks, and promoting responsible behaviour in society.
