JARASSOVA GULZHAN APPOINTED HEAD OF SARSEN AMANZHOLOV EAST KAZAKHSTAN UNIVERSITY

By order of the Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, Sayasat Nurbek, Jarassova Gulzhan Sagidullaevna has been appointed Rector of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.

Jarassova Gulzhan Sagidullaevna has extensive experience in higher education, science, and public administration. Her professional career includes teaching, research, administrative, and managerial work in higher education institutions, as well as service within the state administration system in the field of education.

Jarassova Gulzhan Sagidullaevna was born in 1973 in Kyzylorda Region. She graduated from Al-Farabi Kazakh State National University.

From 1996 to 2015, she worked at S. Toraighyrov Pavlodar State University, where she progressed professionally from lecturer and researcher to Head of Department, Director of Department, and Head of Chair.

From 2015 to 2016, she served as Deputy Director of the Department for Academic Affairs at L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University.

From 2016 to 2020, she served as Vice Rector and Acting Rector of Kh. Dosmukhamedov Atyrau State University.

In 2020, she worked as Deputy Director of the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility Center of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan. From 2020 to 2021, she headed the Center for Pedagogical Research at Pavlodar Pedagogical University.

From 2021 to 2022, she served as Deputy Chair of the Committee for Quality Assurance in Education and Science, as well as Director of the Department of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan.

From 2022 to 2023, she was Vice Rector – Member of the Board of Abai Kazakh National Pedagogical University.

From November 2023, Jarassova Gulzhan Sagidullaevna served as Deputy Chair of the Committee of Higher and Postgraduate Education of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and from 2025 until August 2026 she headed the Committee.

The new Rector’s extensive professional experience is closely connected with key areas of higher education development, including the improvement of academic policy, quality assurance in education, the advancement of research activities, teacher education, and academic mobility.

The appointment of The Chairman of the Board – Rector Jarassova Gulzhan Sagidullaevna marks a new stage in the development of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University. The University faces major tasks related to further improving the quality of education, strengthening research capacity, expanding international cooperation, enhancing educational programmes, and creating a modern academic environment for students and faculty members.
