CLEAN CAMPUS: ECOLOGY STUDENTS CONDUCTED AN ENVIRONMENTAL INSPECTION

As part of the national Taza Qazaqstan programme, second-year students of the Ecology educational program at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University conducted an environmental inspection entitled “Clean Campus.”

The purpose of the event was to promote environmental awareness among students, develop practical skills in environmental monitoring, and assess the condition and improvement of the University grounds.

During the inspection, participants examined the area around Academic Building No. 4 and the surrounding territory. Particular attention was paid to the sanitary condition of the area, the presence of household waste, and the condition of waste bins and containers. Students also assessed the condition of lawns, trees and shrubs, pedestrian paths, and recreation areas, and identified opportunities for additional landscaping.

Participants also discussed ways to improve the waste collection system and introduce separate waste collection on the University campus.

During the inspection, future ecologists applied the knowledge gained during their studies in practice and carried out a visual assessment of the area. As a result, the main areas requiring attention to improve the sanitary and environmental condition of the University grounds were identified.

Students emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness, taking care of green spaces, and demonstrating responsible behavior toward the environment.

Such activities contribute to the development of the professional competencies of future ecologists and help them gain practical experience in identifying environmental problems and finding effective solutions.
