TECHNOLOGY AND INNOVATION: STRENGTHENING THE UNIVERSITY’S RESEARCH POTENTIAL AS A KEY PRIORITY

The Chairman of the Board – Rector Jarassova Gulzhan Sagidullaevna of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University visited Academic Building No. 7, where she reviewed the activities of the departments in the natural sciences and IT fields, as well as the University’s research laboratories.

The academic building is one of the University’s key facilities for conducting research and implementing applied projects. Research and development activities are carried out in the fields of advanced materials and nanotechnology, surface engineering, and tribology. Particular attention is also paid to the development of equipment and technological solutions aimed at creating an accessible and inclusive environment.

Kazakhstan is consistently implementing state initiatives aimed at advancing science, commercialising research and development outcomes, and introducing innovations into the real sector of the economy. As part of this work, initiated by the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, increasing the practical impact of research and applying scientific results to address current challenges are becoming particularly important.

Today, universities are regarded not only as centres for training qualified specialists, but also as platforms for generating new knowledge, technologies, and innovative solutions.

In line with national priorities, Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University is consistently strengthening its research activities, developing its infrastructure, and creating conditions for the practical application of research outcomes.

One of the University’s strategic priorities remains the development of its research and laboratory infrastructure, the broader involvement of students and young researchers in research projects, support for promising initiatives, and the advancement of innovative developments.

Following the visit, further steps were identified to improve laboratory activities, strengthen the material and technical resources, and expand opportunities for the implementation of promising projects.

The University’s key objective is to create a modern research and innovation environment in which knowledge and advanced technologies are put into practice, while new ideas are given the opportunity to develop and generate meaningful benefits for society.
