AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY DISCUSSED THE READINESS OF GRADUATING DOCTORAL STUDENTS FOR DISSERTATION DEFENSE

On September 15, 2026, Amanzholov University held a meeting with graduating doctoral students from the 2023–2026 cohort and their academic supervisors. The main focus of the meeting was to assess the graduates’ readiness to proceed to the defense of their dissertations.

The meeting was chaired by Member of the Board – Vice Rector for Academic Affairs Nurlana Alimbekova. Heads of departments, doctoral supervisors, and Head of the Postgraduate Education Department Tana Abylaikhanova also took part in the meeting.

During the meeting, the situation of each graduating doctoral student was reviewed in detail. The level of dissertation readiness, completion of the research, obtained results, as well as the availability and status of scientific publications required for admission to dissertation defense in accordance with the Rules for Awarding Degrees were discussed individually.

Particular attention was paid to whether publication activity met the established requirements, the readiness of dissertations for submission to dissertation councils, and issues requiring resolution at the final stage of preparation for defense.

Together with academic supervisors and heads of departments, further steps and specific tasks were identified for each graduate to ensure timely submission for dissertation defense.

Nurlana Alimbekova emphasized the importance of individual support for each graduating doctoral student from academic supervisors and departments, as well as systematic monitoring of dissertation readiness and compliance with publication requirements.

As a result of the meeting, further measures were identified to support graduating doctoral students from the 2023–2026 cohort, taking into account the actual readiness of their dissertations and scientific publications for submission to defense.
