A CELEBRATION OF KINDNESS AND RESPECT: STUDENTS CONGRATULATED MEMBERS OF THE OLDER GENERATION

On October 1, 2026, students of the Department of Biology of the Higher School of IT and Natural Sciences at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University visited the Qamqor Social Services Center, where they held a festive event entitled “Older People – A Priceless Legacy for Future Generations” in honor of the International Day of Older Persons.

The meeting continued a good tradition of bringing together members of the older generation and young people in an atmosphere of sincere communication, care, and mutual respect. The main purpose of the event was to express gratitude to older people, strengthen intergenerational ties, and promote among young people the values of respect for the life experience and wisdom of elders.

The festive programme was filled with music, communication, and a positive atmosphere. Students prepared musical performances, entertaining games, and an interactive warm-up session, giving the guests an opportunity to relax and enjoy time together.

One of the warmest parts of the meeting was the interaction between students and older people. The guests shared memories and interesting stories from their lives, recalled important events, and gladly answered the students’ questions. The informal conversation allowed participants to get to know one another better and appreciate the value of direct intergenerational dialogue.

For the students, the meeting became an opportunity not only to show care and attention but also to learn from the rich life experience of the older generation. Such meetings help young people understand the importance of family and social values and foster respect, empathy, and responsibility toward those who preserve historical memory and life wisdom.

The festive event at the Qamqor Center was held in a warm and heartfelt atmosphere and left pleasant impressions on all participants. On this day, the students gave older people their attention and positive emotions and, in return, received sincere warmth, wise words, and valuable memories.

Such initiatives are an important part of the University’s educational and social work and contribute to strengthening intergenerational ties, fostering a culture of respect among young people, and developing social responsibility.
