A CHARITY WORKSHOP “A STEP FORWARD” DEDICATED TO INCLUSIVE EDUCATION WAS HELD AT AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY

A charity workshop “A Step Forward” on the topic “Inclusive Support for Children with Special Educational Needs Using Special and Alternative Methods” was held at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University.

The large-scale event was dedicated to discussing current issues in the field of inclusive education, exchanging experience, and strengthening professional connections among specialists working with children with special educational needs. The workshop was attended by university faculty members, school teachers, speech therapists, defectologists, psychologists, students, and representatives of educational organizations.

During the plenary session, participants were welcomed on behalf of the university administration by Deputy Chairman of the Board of Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University — Vice-Rector for Strategic Development and International Relations, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences Irina Vladimirovna Rovnyakova. In her speech, she emphasized the importance of inclusive education for modern society.

During the plenary session, relevant reports aimed at developing an inclusive educational environment were presented. Participants became acquainted with scientific and practical research dedicated to the use of artificial intelligence technologies in the professional activities of school teachers in the East Kazakhstan Region, redesigning the educational process in conditions of inclusive education, the role of digital technologies in teaching children with special needs, as well as the possibilities of artificial intelligence in inclusive mathematics.

As part of the workshop, master classes were organized in three areas. Each of them was dedicated to the practical application of modern methods of working with children with special educational needs.

Participants attended practical sessions on speech development, improvement of fine motor skills, the use of ART therapy elements, sensory integration, ABA therapy, emotional development, implementation of adapted programs, organization of inclusive lessons, and effective work with students requiring a special educational approach.

In addition, during the workshop, issues of early support for children with special needs, development of communication skills, team support at school, as well as the application of digital technologies and artificial intelligence were widely discussed.

At the conclusion of the event, a platform for exchanging opinions and a question-and-answer session were held. Specialists shared their experience in the field of inclusive education and discussed prospects for further joint projects and partnerships.

The workshop “A Step Forward” became an important platform for strengthening cooperation within the professional community in supporting children with special educational needs and another step toward building an inclusive society.
