In its work, the Trade Union Committee of the university’s faculty and staff is guided by the Constitution of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Labour Code of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the Laws “On Education”, “On Trade Unions”, “On Social Partnership in the Republic of Kazakhstan”, “On Housing Relations”, “On Public Associations” and other legislative acts, as well as by the Charter of the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers, the General Agreement concluded between the Government of the Republic of Kazakhstan, the republican associations of trade unions and the republican associations of employers, the sectoral agreement between the Ministry of Education and Science and the Trade Union of Education and Science Workers of the Republic of Kazakhstan, and the collective agreement concluded with the Chairman of the Board – Rector of NJSC “S. Amanzholov EKU”.

Main tasks of the Trade Union Committee of Faculty and Staff of NJSC “Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University”

1to represent and protect, in accordance with the procedure established by law, the professional, economic and social interests, cultural rights and freedoms of staff members, and to help improve housing and living conditions and compliance with occupational health and safety standards;
2to uphold the agreed positions of the region’s trade union organisations regarding the socio-economic situation and socio-political events in the country;
3to direct efforts towards employees’ compliance with the University Charter and the Internal Labour Regulations, and towards the full and high-quality performance of job duties;
4to actively assist the administration in settling labour disputes and conflict situations and in maintaining a healthy moral and psychological climate in the team;
5to assist the administration in implementing the Collective Agreement with the Chairman of the Board – Rector of NJSC “S. Amanzholov EKU”;
6to consider all issues collectively and openly at joint open meetings of the trade union activists;
7to provide employees with free legal assistance;
8to hold, together with the employer, cultural, sports and public events dedicated to national, state and professional holidays;
9to reward trade union members with certificates of honour and bonuses for active participation in the university’s public life;
10to grant bonuses to teaching staff and employees on milestone birthdays;
11to help place employees’ children in nurseries and kindergartens.

Providing financial assistance

for organising family holidays for university employees;

for purchasing sanatorium and resort vouchers, trips to recreation areas and children’s camp vouchers;

for holding cultural events within trade union groups;

for holding the “Health” Spartakiad among teaching staff and employees;

in connection with the illness of current employees and the death of their close relatives.
