AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY: SCIENTIFIC COOPERATION IN THE DAIRY INDUSTRY

L.M. Akhmetova, a member of the research group at Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University, undertook a research trip to Astana from October 27 to 30, 2026. The visit was carried out within the framework of research project IRN AP26101867 “Enhancing the Competitiveness of the Dairy Products Subsystem of the Regional Agro-Industrial Complex in the Context of Digital Logistics.”

The main purpose of the trip was to study the current state of Kazakhstan’s dairy industry, mechanisms of state support and investment activity, as well as opportunities for applying digital technologies to the management of dairy supply chains.

As part of the visit, a working meeting was held with A.K. Amanzholova, Deputy Director of the Center for Regional Studies and Quality of Life at the Economic Research Institute (ERI). The parties discussed current issues related to the development of Kazakhstan’s dairy industry, the effectiveness of state support measures, investment activity, and economic factors affecting the competitiveness of dairy products. They also considered regional development characteristics and ways to improve the efficiency of dairy production and transportation.

A meeting was also held with a manager of the Republican Chamber of Dairy and Combined Cattle Breeds. The discussion focused on the development of pedigree dairy farming, increasing cattle productivity, modernization of dairy farms, and the introduction of modern technologies into production processes. Particular attention was paid to state support mechanisms and improving cooperation between raw milk producers and processing enterprises.

To strengthen scientific ties, a meeting was held with faculty members of the Institute of Business and Digital Technologies at S. Seifullin Kazakh Agrotechnical Research University – D. Zhenshan, G.T. Kunafina, and Z.S. Mukhambetova.

The participants exchanged experience, reviewed methodological approaches to studying the dairy industry, discussed ways to enhance its competitiveness, and explored prospects for using digital technologies to optimize supply chains.

Following the meetings, a number of pressing issues affecting the development of the dairy industry were identified. In particular, attention was given to production cost formation, improving infrastructure for the collection and storage of raw milk, setting purchase prices, and increasing the efficiency of cooperation between agricultural producers and processing enterprises.

The information, expert opinions, and proposals collected during the research trip will provide a basis for further studies within the project. The results obtained will contribute to the development of scientific and practical solutions aimed at enhancing the competitiveness of the dairy products subsystem of the regional agro-industrial complex.
