AMANZHOLOV UNIVERSITY STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN THE 6TH INTERNATIONAL SUMMER SCHOOL FOR YOUNG HISTORIANS, TURKOLOGISTS, AND ALTAISTS

Students from Sarsen Amanzholov East Kazakhstan University took part in the 6th International Summer School for Young Historians, Turkologists, and Altaists, held from June 29 to July 3, 2026, in Barnaul, Russian Federation. The event was organized by the “Greater Altai” Research and Educational Center of Altai State University, with the Lesnye Dali Park Hotel serving as the main venue.

The international educational initiative brought together a master’s student in the 7M02202 “History” program along with first- and second-year undergraduate students in the 6B01602 “History and Social Studies IP” program from Amanzholov University. As part of the curriculum, participants attended lectures by leading scholars and experts from Central Asian countries and the Russian Federation, actively collaborated on group research projects, exchanged perspectives, engaged in academic debates, and built professional networks with prominent researchers.

The summer school program combined academic coursework with rich cultural and educational activities. Participants visited historical landmarks across Barnaul, toured the Museum of Archaeology and Ethnography of Altai, and took part in foresight sessions and film lectures exploring the history and culture of Turkic peoples, while gaining access to new scholarly resources on shared historical and cultural heritage.

Amanzholov University student Olzhas Kanopiyanov highlighted the significance of the program:

“In my view, the primary goal of this summer school is to gain a deeper understanding of our native land, which holds sacred value for every Turkic nation. The international summer school gathered students from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and the Russian Federation. Studying the history, traditions, and customs of our peoples together was an exceptionally engaging and rewarding experience,” he noted.

The 6th International Summer School for Young Historians, Turkologists, and Altaists served as a vital academic platform for nurturing the research potential of emerging scholars, strengthening international institutional cooperation, and studying the shared cultural heritage of the Turkic world. Such initiatives foster students’ professional growth, broaden their academic horizons, introduce them to emerging research fields, and provide hands-on experience within the global scientific community.
